Day One -- we hit the ground running (and typing)

Holy crap, what a day. Got a LOT of stuff done, not the least of which was banging out 2,000 new words on the Blackbeard novel! Wahoo! My April Dare is starting to roll. I hope everyone else is doing well and working hard on their projects.

I even gave up a free meal with the in-laws and a chance to play with my nephew so I could get all my work done. But I did cut the front lawn -- I mean that stuff was knee-high. Got to draw the line somewhere, y'know?

I also did some major revising for a story to be named later, for an editor to be named later, for an anthology to be named later. Hee hee.

I also did more revamping to "The City of All-Worlds," getting it down to 10,000 words at last, and adding a new magic system called "un-building" that actually is kind of cool, and may result in me expanding that story into a novel, you never know.

Got some stories to take to the PO tomorrow, as the rejections slowly trickle in. Say -- anyone know of a good online market for a short mainstream story? I've already sent "The Chicken Project" to PIF, The Pedestal, Glimmer Train, and Atlantic Unbound, and I don't feel like sending it to another damn literary journal that takes 6 months to respond. It's email submission or retirement for that tale! Any input would be greatly appreciated.

And that's all, folks. Day One was a success. Let me know how YOU did! Comment away!

Today's Quote:
More marks cluttered the wall, not as prevalent as the hash marks, but enough to be significant. They were all the same, and they appeared to be numbers possibly. A five and an eight, possibly? Some sort of date?

Or maybe not numbers at all, Ella thought, eyes widening with excitement. Maybe they were--

“Dig deeper,” a voice said in her ear.
