Day Seven -- a glitch in the matrix...

Argh -- story revisions strike! Fixed up one story that is hopefully "sold" and returned it to the editor at last. I also reformatted a rejected story and emailed as a submission to another magazine, and got tons of feedback on the Shadow Wolf story, which may get sent out later this week. And I also got news that another story may have sold.

All of which distracted me during my regularly-scheduled novel-writing time, so I only got a little bit done on the drafting. I did fix up a logical problem -- if you can even BE logical when you have ghosts in your novel -- and set the scene for tomorrow’s writing session, in which our heroes break into the Ocracoke lighthouse in the middle of the night for a look-see.

Meanwhile, fellow Darers Jay and Mark have given me chunks of their novels-in-progress to read, and that’s what I’ll be doing the rest of the night. Cool, cool stuff!

Today's Quote:
The explosion was unlike anything Tom Arneson had ever felt in his life. There was no sound, only the numbing blast of wrongness. The shock wave knocked the half-empty can of beer from his hand and burst the two beers inside his jacket.

Dripping and shuddering with cold, Tom grabbed Mercy and pulled her to the ground behind the statue, almost touching the statue above them in the process. Panicking, he probed his wet shirt and the cold skin under it. He wasn’t bleeding, just out of beer.
