Day 19 -- Do the Evolution

Now we're talking. I've been having trouble getting motivated to write the next scene because it doesn't involve ANY of the ghosts, it's mostly dialog between my two main characters, and it advances the romance between them quite distinctly. I kept catching myself want to wrap things up quickly instead of continuing the scene, letting the two characters get to know each other. I tell you, writing this romance has been quite educational.

Elizabeth and I both crashed this afternoon after a major sugar rush -- my nephew had an Easter egg hunt at my in-laws house, and we sat around eating donuts and bagels and easter candy for way too long. We both crashed for about 2 hours once we got home -- I think we're both pretty worn out from working so hard. So it was nice, getting so much writing done this afternoon, after waking up. Naps are good. Naps are your friends.

Tomorrow the plan is to get all my writing done in the morning so I can read all afternoon. I got the latest edition of Polyphony in the mail today, and I can't wait to read the stories in there. I'll probably start off with David Moles' story -- I've liked all the stuff I've read by that dude. That's quite a lineup they've got for this issue -- nice work, Jay and Deborah! Later...

Today's Quote:
“Let me know how it all works out, okay, Ella?” He held out his hand for her and she shook it. “You’re nowhere near the mean old Yankee that Mitch made you out to be,” he added with a wink that almost came too late.

Bye, Dad,” Mitch said, leading Bill toward the back door. “Don’t fall into the ditch on the way home. I know it’s a long three-block walk for an old fella like you.”

“Good luck to you on the expedition, Ella,” Bill called. “Ignore my son’s rudeness, please.”

“Good night,” Ella called, just as the door slammed behind Bill and Barnacle the chocolate lab.
