Now look at what I've gone and done...

Hey, yo, look at me, I'm writing. Words of fiction, even. Cool.

I was reading Intracities subs tonight after way too long away from it, and found some kick-ass stories that I want to use in the antho, and that got me thinking. Thinking about that story idea I had for a story set here in the North Raleigh/Wake Forest area.

You see where this is going. While I have three novels in desperate need of revising (one of which may have to be almost completely rewritten, I fear, for it to do what I now want it to do), I started a new story!

I've been sort of easing off of the story-writing after whipping up a bunch earlier this year, and now look what I've gone and done -- gotten the story-writing bug again. It's fun getting in and getting out in a story. You can be looser, wilder, and more experimental in a story, and this story is going to be all of the above. It's about a guy who's been living on an unfinished bridge for the past three decades. That's all I got to say about that, other than -- it's pretty damn fun.

Today's Quote:
It’s been over thirty years now that I’ve been keeping them from finishing their damn bridge. Thirty years since I’ve slept on a mattress instead of dangling to sleep on a hammock tied to rusting supports. Thirty years since I’ve been downtown, inside the capital city’s two paltry skyscrapers. Thirty years since I’ve seen the small town to the north taking its last gasps of personality, before being overtaken by the sprawl.
