2003-09-23 11:26 AM Goofy numbers Okay, so I've been getting up at 4:30 a.m. for the past few weeks on weekdays, trying to get all the editing and revising done on the Wannoshay novel. Four-thirty. There's a number for you.
Last night I numbered all 150 copies of Intracities while watching TV from 8:30-9:30 p.m. with Elizabeth (Dave Matthews was on MTV, looking thoroughly un-thrilled about being on Total Request Live, but playing some great tunes, just him and his guitar). Unless it's something special on TV, I have trouble just watching regular programming -- I've got to do something in the process, like numbering copies of the antho. Of course, I ended up numbering a couple with the same number, and ended up numbering some of the last group of anthos 159/150 and so on. I'm bad with numbers. I've been putting together the finished chapters of the novel into one Word file, and that file is now up to 278 pages. Then I changed the font from Courier to Times New Roman, and it was 222 pages. I changed it back to Courier. These are the things that keep me amused, early in the morning. More numbers. I still have 4 more chapters to revise, one chapter to mostly rewrite, then it's on to the completely new stuff -- then I have 8 chapters to write pretty much from scratch. I should have all the revisions done by the end of the week, and this weekend will be a write-a-thon. In any case, it's not looking good for me to be done by the end of the month, but I'm gonna try. The Novel Dare may consist of me finishing this novel, then diving into the YA SF novel. Just as long as all the various novel stuff is done by the end of the year (that's 2003, another number for you), I'll be happy. This journal entry brought to you by the number Ø. Later!
