2004-06-03 9:51 PM Stretching reality in chapter three... I got in another 1,000 words or so tonight at Borders, even though their free wireless was enticing and tempting me to surf instead of draft. I went there after dropping Lizzie off at her prenatal yoga class -- got to keep mom and baby all relaxed and stretchy, ya know.
I got the first half of a great scene written in chapter three, and I couldn't take it any more -- I had to write a magical element into the story! I'd made it about 30 pages before the urge overpowered me. I don't want to say too much about it and jinx myself. For whatever reason, I've been keeping things relatively realistic, though there's a pretty horrific incident that occurs to end chapter one (can anyone say "foul tip"?), but I will say this about the "magical element" in chapter three: involves a potential home run hit, Mack the Mystery Outfielder, and a play that would've been impossible without sharp metal spikes... More tomorrow! Later. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
