2004-06-14 11:08 PM Chapter Five: Zeppelins, heavyweight champs, vision quests, and the Fourth of July I mixed things up a bit today, since I couldn't drag my ass out of bed and write at the crack of dawn this morning. I had my plans for chapter five sort of in the back of my mind all day, and had a couple good ideas while cutting our knee-length grass and walking the dog tonight.
So I sat down around 9:30 p.m. and got to typing. about an hour and a half later, I was 11 pages into chapter five, and all sorts of crazy stuff has happened (see title, above). I'm having a ball with this book, and I really really hope it all holds together when I'm done. I'm creeping close to the 100-page mark already, which is quite cool. The next two weeks will be nutty, as I try to keep on writing and also try to get all my shit done for the Day Job before Elizabeth and I take off for the beach for a week for our anniversary (and to just get away!). I have a lot of catching-up to do at work, so I'll be doing some longish days, I fear -- I was there from eight to five-thirty today, no lunch break. Ugh.
