Just because I'm a stubborn bastard who doesn't want to give in, and because I really want to take a trip to coastal Oregon again, I'm giving myself one last chance to see if I can get inspired about my stalled-out novel.

I printed out the whole thing, single-spaced and double-sided so it didn't seem so overwhelming, and I'm gonna sit down tonight and read it all, all 42,500 words of it. And I'm taking notes.

For inspiration I plan on re-reading the opening 20 pages or so of Tim Powers' Last Call, just to see how he does it. And I need to remind myself of why I wanted to write this book in the first place -- lost track of that.
