Not been feeling much like journaling, or writing, or even reading much this week. Dunno if it's the end of summer and transitions, or what, but I HATE it. Not done a lick of writing for days now. Ugh.

Lizzie and I took the day off from all our chores yesterday and just hung out and went driving, looking for potential new neighborhoods when we decide to move (in a year or two -- we try to be proactive!). That was cool -- we needed some time together. It's hard to do when you have a little one underfoot. I mean, we took Drew with us, and he was a champ rider, dozing off for us and enjoying the ride while he was awake. But it's nice to just have time with Elizabeth to talk and not be constantly working.

Speaking of, I spent all morning getting our yard back in shape -- fed the birds, sprayed the flowers, PULLED WEEDS (about two hours and three wheelbarrows worth), then cut the grass. Who knows, maybe we'll get some rain from the heinously large hurricane heading towards land -- hang on, New Orleans!

Maybe I'll just read over what I've written so far on the new novel -- this one has been giving me fits ever since I started it in early July. I can't seem to get in a good rhythm with it. I don't know if it's the subject matter or the level of emotion behind the novel. Maybe I'm just a wee bit scared of it. It's an odd feeling.

In other news, I've been messing with a PhotoBlog of sorts, over at Blogger. Google has tied together a bunch of cool software packages, including Picasa, which organizes all the photos on your hard drive, and Blogger, an existing blog software, making it easy to upload photos for a journal entry. I think whenever I want to run some photos, I'll do it over here, and run a pointer here. That way I don't have to worry about running out of space...
