It only two months of hacking, slashing, and rebuilding, along with the excellent insight of a stellar group of first readers (Andrew, Reenie, Maggie, Greg, Mahesh, and Kathy) along with the fine insight of a quality editor (Hi, Jim!), but at last, it can be announced: my SF story "Drinker" sold to the DAW anthology Heroes in Training.

I especially like how this one turned out, because in the process of writing it, I learned a lot of cool details about my aliens from The Wannoshay Cycle, stuff that should resonate with readers of the novel, if the novel ever gets accepted for publication.

Whew. Now, back to our regularly scheduled ramping-up with the Sixteen Miles novel. Switching gears and taking names. Later!
