It took me a couple hours, one trip to Staples, and some checking and double-checking of the various stacks of documents before I slid 'em all into the envelope, but I finally finished up my NC Fellowship application. Whew.

What a pain in the arse.

But hey, eight grand is nothing to sneeze at. For my writing sample I used the opening chapter to Sixteen Miles, so we'll see how the committee reacts to a little genre in their faces...

I also printed up four print submissions for the baseball novel, and shipped off one last email sub for it. Now I can finally get back to work on Sixteen Miles again, with no more distractions!

I did all this, and went to the fair as well! Drew and I went, and what a surreal experience that is. Everything looks so 1970s, from the midway to the rides to the sideshow tents (yes, they still have these! The world's fattest man, the biggest living horse, etc., the tiniest woman, etc.). I did win Drew a fish stuffed animal, but wasted about $20 on other games, including a game where I got to shoot a frickin' crossbow! Later!
