Tomorrow the plan is to work on the novel synopsis.

I've tried to write this a couple times, and I'm still not there yet. The one I wrote this morning is close, but doesn't quite capture the feel of the book. I'm trying to condense a 400-page novel into three or maybe four double-spaced pages. Not an easy task.

Basically, I'm trying to come up with a one-sentence summary of the book, and then a one-paragraph snapshot, and then a three-page synopsis.

So... in the spirit of sharing, if you have a synopsis or three of a novel of yours, feel free to shoot it my way -- mjasper at gmail dot com.

In the meantime, I'll be pulling out my favorite books and reading the back covers and inner flaps of those to see how the pros do it. Because that's what a synopsis is -- a way to sell your book.

Oh, and I have two or three more bits to fill out on the final chapter of Sixteen Miles as well, then that book will be done, done, done. Wish me luck! Later...
