When I was fifteen I started regularly reading a forum called "The Savant Society." In this forum I read intelligent (most of the time) discussions on topics that I rarely heard discussed intelligently between equals. Everything under the sun was fair game for a good discussion, but the topics that always kept me coming back for more were science (physics, anthropology, genetics, psychology) and religion.

Prior to that point, I'd had few encounters with either religion or science due to my parent's disinterest in attending church and my school system's disinterest in teaching us more science than simply how volcanoes work and plants grow (and yet, despite nine years of "earth science" I still manage to kill ivy if left in my care). So you can see how this was a whole new world for me back then. Which is why I get excited when I read interesting things like these:

Deepak Chopra's analysis of God and Physics(Who says religion and science don't mix?)

Does God really hate Fags? (I thought God loves everyone...)

What happens when an ignoramus reads the bible (He called himself that, but I don't think he's really an ignoramus; he's probably pretty smart.)
