We just got the keys for our new apartment last night. So the things that have been distracting me for the last month or so are morphing. I'm still debating about my future career path (what's new, eh?), but our living space is now changing drastically, and this feels pleasant and nice to me.

We have S P A C E!

Kenny and Rachel came over to see the new place last night, drank some mead (which I thought tasted like mouthwash--Steven says I have a weird sense of taste sometimes) and just hung out with us for awhile. Sometimes it's the simple things that make me happy--we had almost nothing in the apartment (Kenny and Steven did carry the bed over, though--we <3 Kenny) yet, but we still managed to have a pretty good time just hanging out for awhile. :)

Dear little Isobel freaked out for a good long while last night while we had her over there, but once she discovered us sleeping she calmed down, crawled out of her hiding place under the comforter we put in the closet for her (it seemed more comfy than the space behind the toilet) and wandered around. Steven said he found her sleeping in the middle of the bedroom floor at some point late last night. I have heard word that they had adventure together in the middle of the night--like a sane person, I was busy sleeping. ;)

And what Erin-style journal entry doesn't have a list?

Things we now have that we didn't before:
-Brand new appliances
-Additional wattage throughout the house (or something along those lines... Steven is excited about being able to plug everything in all at once and not have the electricity go away)
-Floors that resemble hardwood (yay!)
-1.5 bathrooms: it amuses me that 1/2 bath is actually larger than the "full" bath. Either way, though, I like having two of them. yippee!
-Granite counter tops
-Cupboard space in the kitchen
-A good place for the kitty litter
-A Harry-Potter-style cupboard under the stairs! (I'm rereading the series again in preparation for the final book release--so I find this especially exciting now.)
-Air conditioning! (This northwesterner wilts in the heat, so this is a welcome addition, even it is a little loud.)
-Ceiling fans (in case the A/C isn't enough? I don't know... but I like them!)
-More space than we know what to do with yet!

I did all sorts of happy snoopy dances yesterday, and am fairly likely to continue such behavior today. :)
