2005-04-05 7:44 AM Raising Kids Nothing makes me reflect more on life than my relationships with my kids. So many ups and downs. So many failures and successes. So many perceived failures and successes that later look different. So much uncertainty. At any point in time, I'm hardly certain whether I'm helping or hindering them.
Then there are days when they are simply revealed to me, like a surprise sunset that catches my breath and holds me in wonder, not at anything I've accomplished but at who they are. Last night I saw a young lady, usually seen as my daughter, in her prom dress. And I saw the light in her eyes, a light that is simply hers.
