Mental illness sucks. The stigmas of mental illness suck more. I hope Dave Chappelle healthily finds his way through whatever journey he is on. But I hope even more that people will get beyond the stigmas that lead them to pronounce "I'm not crazy," "I'm not gay," "I'm not ..." I understand why celebrities feel compelled to issue statements the way reality is created around them by perception and media rumor mongering. But it would be great if we got to a point someone could say, 'I'm mentally ill,' in the same breath as they say, my allergies are acting up today.
