Let's say at the end of a reasonably long life you suddenly have a revelation that casts the majority of your efforts in life in a negative light. Maybe you crusaded for atheism and get converted or crusaded for Christianity and get un-converted -- or whatever. Is it any comfort at that point to say to yourself, I did my best? I was wrong but at least I acted out my convictions.?
