Some of my friends can barely avoid a look of derision when they hear me listening to Mariah Carey, Will Smith, or anything pop. I'll confess it's worse than just listening. I can get chills, cry or laugh listening to almost anything if it is just the right thing at the right time. To some that makes me sappy and easily manipulated (to say nothing of how well some formulaic movies work for me). Oh well, I've never claimed to be sophisticated.
