2005-11-10 9:52 AM Waiting... It's amazing how much of our lives we spend just waiting. It's also amazing how little improvement I've made in waiting. I suppose no one sets out in life to become a great wait-er, but maybe it is a virtue to wait well. To not let times of waiting simply be times of wasting. Not to say we ought to fill up all the space with something "productive." I think it's more having a sense of creativity that works with the open spaces of waiting, a sense of wonder that resists labels like "bored," "wasting time," etc. which labels create a need to "make something happen" that really only reveals an internal drivenness that is all to often closed to the present moment.
