Don't know why this song came to mind this morning, but it is one of my favorites:

I guess I like it because of the sentiment -- who wouldn't want peace on earth. But it goes beyond that with the second line and the second verse -- let it begin with me. It's a lot easier to wish for generic peace, and a lot harder to look at those with whom I am not at peace and to make peace with them. But here's to hoping we are all moving closer to it, little by little each day.
