2006-05-05 8:48 AM "I wish I wasn't the richest man alive" Well, Bill Gates reportedly said nothing good can come out of being the richest man alive. We humans are a strange lot. Of course, it doesn't seem that hard to not be the richest man alive if you don't want to be. I suppose what he meant is that he feels an enormous amount of pressure from all of the investors who count on the company to turn a profit, meet expectations, etc. And perhaps just the unwanted attention he gets. So maybe he can't even run his own company the way he wants because it is this big complicated thing.
I think I can understand what he's saying, even if I can't say I pity him. It's hard to be happy. But it's still kind of an ugly thing to say out loud -- being rich isn't so great? I suppose most of us can think of ways to solve that problem. Read/Post Comments (5) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
