of work this week. it's only 5 in a row. i guess i'd gotten used to a 3 day work week.

why yes we have snow in kentucky, thank you for asking.

it was actually pretty today - whiteout conditions at a point or two.

the ground is covered altho the roads are clear. it just looks really strange to see snow on the leaves of the trees and on the tulips and honeysuckle. i'm used to it laying quietly on the branches, but it's swaying in the wind on the leaves.

remember crazy shirley at work??? long story short, there was an issue with a delivery today - NOT shirley's fault - but she's decided that since they really are going to get rid of her now, she wants to trade my house cleaning accounts for her full time job.

i just laughed at her.

as if...

"MEDICATE shirley, MEDICATE!!!!!!!!"

(they're not getting rid of her, unless of course she keeps this kind of shit up. there really wasn't an issue with the delivery, but there's definite issues with shirley's brain...or lack thereof...a little paranoid??? yeah, i'd say so)

yesterday at work the girls were saying how i hadn't cut myself in over a week.

my kids and i are naturally clumsy. it's a well known fact.

i've cut my wrist, my hand, and snipped my finger with scissors.

today as i was closing up my knife, it snapped shut on the end of my little finger.

it's a good thing i hadn't gotten around to cutting my nails this week. they've grown rather long, and the knife went thru the nail and just into the skin. it bled like crazy for a minute and then just closed up.

owie. it's a little sore.

i bought a pair of those shoes today.

ya know, those shoes i talked about buying a few months ago???

i have a pair of black clogs from lands end that i've worn for about 4 years. i have some foot problems with the right foot. the clogs are completely broken down and i've been having pain because of it, so i broke down and bought a pair.

not the tapestry kind that i tried on that weren't comfy, but a nice sage green leather that will give and mold to my foot.

i wore them for a few hours this afternoon and they were heavenly to stand in, especially compared to the worn out ones i'd been wearing.

i also bought new walking shoes. i hadn't had a new pair in the same 4 year period as the clogs cuz i remember i ordered them both from lands end at the same time.

i figure if i can get 4 years out of lands end shoes, then i should be able to get twice that out of these. they really are made well and the clogs i bought are the ones that doctors and nurses swear by. besides, new shoes every 4 years??? i think i can splurge a little.

i hope they turn out to be a good investment. otherwise, i'm gonna be pissed that i spent that much money on them.

spring break is over this weekend. katherine is at yet another sleepover.

nigel is moving in with his "old lady" this weekend. he says he'll bring her by, maybe this weekend when he comes to get some of his clothes, so we can meet her.

she works at a law firm.

we thought that might come in handy one day, but hope the need never arises.

still, it's always good to know someone.

my sister worked at a law firm once, and ended up getting $11,000.00 for a fender bender and she didn't even get hurt.
