all in all, it's been a damn near perfect day. *eep*

THE DANCE was a smashing success. i drilled her immediately, but alas, there was no need. she got in the car and the first word out of her mouth was an exuberant "OK!!"

and what followed was most excellent.

mud's parents are like, really old. he's 12, they're at least 60's. i swear, his dad is 80. he hobbles he's so old. he wears bow ties he's so old. he smells like moth balls he's so old. but they're cute.

i think his mom must have done a bit of old fashioned coaching. yay mud's mom!! the kid offered to buy drinks and food for her, waited on her hand and foot, and did all her bidding tonight. he won something in a contest or some such thing, and gave it to her to keep as a momento.

*swoon*

i don't think she's put it down yet. it's just a ticket for free food and drinks, but she's holding on to it tight.

and yes, they danced, altho she told me that every time a slow song came on she made her way out of the gym really quick because she just wasn't ready for that. *giggle*

baby girl has 2 friends spending the night tonight, one of whom was at the dance, and she said that every time baby girl disappeared to go to the bathroom or make a phone call, mud would say "where'd she go? where is she? is she ok? what's she doing?"

i think the boy has slopped his dripper and lell in fove.

i know, it's too soon, and i almost hate it, cuz i know how all this stuff goes. boy do i know. but still, i couldn't be happier for her. she told me, that with the day and the dance and her 2 friends staying over, it's been an almost perfect day.

we should all be so fortunate.
