JITH. a 4 day outdoor concert of country music held yearly in a big field [according to wordweb, jamboree is: A gay festivity...haha].

so really, its a big deal. people from all over the world come to check-out the music...theres a lot of canadian license plates I noticed. a few former no-name acts heve been discovered during this show and moved on up the country music ladder. and wow the money generated...ya cant walk into any store within a fifty mile radius without seeing JITH sunglasses on the counter or JITH sweatshirts hanging near the door. its funny cuz West Virginia is the country capital of the world with WWVA and all the country music stuff in wheeling--but leave it to sneaky ohioians to turn heavy bucks on america's love of country music by throwing a woodstock-like session in W.Va's back yard...I think thats funny as hell.

the show takes place maybe 25 miles from me, and Ive been there twice in my life (once with the ex just to see what the hell it was all about--was fun but not my cup of tea--and once again lastnight, although I didnt go for, nor did I hear the music.

the actual event started earlier tonight and goes til sunday evening. now Ill watch the newspaper and count the DUIs and disorderly conducts...

anyway, if youre a fan of country music--or just a fan of huge parties, you should check this out. but bring lots of cash........
