other side of burnt out

well. It's over. My (hopefully) last bad mid term week. I had major projects due in all classes this week and I'm now waiting to leave my last class of the week, so I can die? veg? begin work on stuff for next week? get ready for my pre-portfolio review? yeah. lots of that sort of thing.

Just have to keep working. I actually want to work a little bit harder this next half of the quarter, I feel a lot of my pieces came off due to smoke and mirrors. There's no really artistic talent there. Heard that my circuit lady went over pretty well in illustration, but that was through the grape vine.(last quarter's illustration teacher)

The food.com campaign got ok responses out from colin, even though I realized in class that I was designing the cambell soup can. (otherwise known as the 12th hour *oh crap* of the design student) Design is so prevalent in your life when you are studying it, that often you find yourself questioning the integrity of your inspiration. Way too many times I wonder, is that mine or is that something I saw/read/watched/heard/took in by osmosis? Can't avoid it, but I hope that it really is my idea, and not some clever rehash of something I grew up with. Or andy warhol. It's like desciphering some code to find that it was really some guy ordering fries in greek. Or finding a receipt in a dig.

Package design was just happy to play with digital camera he got to take pictures of our packages. The next project i'm actually kind of psched about. Design a wine bottle and container. Price is no object. This is an excellent project. I've got a couple of ideas for the bottle itself, but I need to settle down to a good container. I should probably go box/tin/bag shopping for it this weekend. So I can work inwards to the wine itself. Woot.

Try to decide if I will ever be excited about starwars again. Ever. Thanks lucas. Frankly, it will never be as good as that 7 am showing we got thanks to friend chesh, with all of lycos and connected parfinalia of friends and so's, in one theater. It was flat out, the best venue for that lucas flick.

Off to watch a chick flick before the guru decends on the house. T-16 days til we are done with TESM.
