This journal will be a series of progress reports on the process of bringing a novel from manuscript to bookstore shelf. I'm doing it because a number of readers have asked when my new book, ABSENT FRIENDS, will be out, and when I tell them Fall '04, they ask, Why so long? There actually are reasons why, and I thought people might be interested in those reasons, and in following the process. If you're one of those interested people, watch this space.
