Okay, so Episode 3 doesn't suck.

While that's true, it only doesn't suck in comparison to Eps 1 & 2. It's still way out the league of 4 - 6.

Why?

Is it just that George has always sucked and we're only now recognizing that? Has he grown too attached to CGI graphics, at the cost of losing his humanity? Or is it simply that this particular trilogy was not done by committee?

I think the answer lies in the humor. It's impossible for the average fan (and I'm not talking Con-goers who dress up as Wookies or Jedi here) to not remember cool lines from Eps 4 - 6. Cool, funny lines.

"I am not a committee!"

"Laugh it up Fuzz-ball."

"I love you."
"I know."

"How're we doin', kid?"
"Same as always."
"That bad, huh?"

That bad. Episode III doesn't totally suck, 'cause there are actually some funny lines. There are actually pieces of humanity, and not so much overblown teen-age angst. Humor, yes. Eps 1 & 2 suffer a serious debt of humor. Of good fun, not that of the execrable Binks iggit who's mecifully absent line-wise here. We need lines that will have fans reciting them for generations, and in this film we got paid.

Not that I, er, can remember any now.
