I got to go to Powell's yesterday and pick up a selection of used books for a fraction of what they would have cost new. Some of them are not even available new anymore, so I really made out. I live only a hop and jump (I refuse on moral grounds to skip) from the huuuuuge store, but have only been there a handful of times. Dunno why. Maybe it has to do with the sense that shopping for more books when I already have waaaaaay too many, more than I'll be able to read in this life time, seems almost profane.

It's why I plan to come back again and again till they're all read.

I really should go there more often though. Even if I don't make the drive, I can shop online. It's a terribly cool place, and I could practically live there--it's got a bathroom and coffee shop, so I wouldn't hurt for the basic necessities.

Besides, what other bookstore states that its success is due to synergy? And they have an interview with Neil Gaiman, who's just, you know, cool.
