Call it what you will: "Grass is Greener syndrome," "Rose colored glasses," "Newbie Super Excitement," or whatever, but my new job is primo!

(Not this Primo, although it looks yummy.)

The facility is gorgeous and includes all sorts of amentities for the grunts on the floor: on site gym with Trainer; cafeteria with delicious salad bar that also serves a mean omelette; ergonomically designed chairs; free bus passes for the Springfield/Eugene area; lots of ambient light and open spaces, just to name a few. But the thing I am most impressed by is that this company of 40,000 employees (yes, all those 0s should be there) stresses company loyalty so much that it's one of the metrics they use to evaluate your performance on calls, and they do a lot of do deserve it, and the best part (given my former place of my employ) is an entire department devoted to Company and Business Ethics.

Ethics.

It's a commodity sorely lacking in so much of the world these days--politics, the health care industry, politics, Nigerian Spam, politics . . . And we could all do with a little more. Okay, maybe a lot more, especially from our leaders. That we watched several videos and held a couple hours worth of discussion on this topic on our first day is no accident, and this kind of committment, so long as what is preached is practiced, is v. cool. So, here's a shout out for RCCL: You rock!
