Just passed a few pleasant hours with The Husband's son from a previous marriage . . . their actual relationship is somewhat more complicated, but suffice to say, they claim a father son relationship, and I think it's cool. Cooler still is the fact that The Husband tracked down the lad about a year ago after not having seen him for a decade or more, and they've been conversing in email since then.

So, The Son surprised us with a visit today, and we chatted for a bit, and The Husband took him on a tour of the property, including the garden remnants, and the-garage-which-is-to-become-an-apartment (more on that later). We met his golden retriever/st bernard mix dog, who is very cute, despite Pouncey's view on the subject, and later took him out to dinner.

A word about cats: I tried to find a pen earlier, to give The Son our phone number, and even though I have a stash of pens in the living room, I couldn't find one to write it down . . . BECAUSE LOKI KEEPS STEALING THEM!!!!
