and another thing...

OK, one more thing. I think I've shared my personal goal of being present enough in my life to respond emotionally to things AS they're happening, rather than going through something and thinking later, "Oh my gosh, that was really happy/sad/frustrating what happened back there." I think it's about being integrated. Anyway, at the wedding I attended last week, I was at the reception minding my own business when the DJ announced the father/daughter dance. I was watching the bride's dad make his way to the dance floor and BAM! I was crying. Not my usual way, when my mind goes, "Oh isn't that sweet...? Oh, but your father died. You will never dance with him again," and then getting upset at that realization. No, the thought and the emotion were simultaneous.

That's progress... isn't it?
