2004-08-30 8:25 PM my favorite moment from today I meet with a group of clergywomen every couple of months. They're fun and down-to-earth. Today one of them was sharing about her son, who has a form of autism. "He's a little quirky," she said. She told a story of being out with him when he was about 9 or so. They ran into his teacher and had a short conversation. As they were going their separate ways, my friend asked her son, "Is there anything you'd like to say to Mrs. Smith" expecting
Good-bye," "Have a nice summer," or some such. Instead this preacher's kid with autism looked at his teacher and said, "May the Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace."
