2005-06-01 9:11 PM the FAQ Here’s what I know…
When are you due? Are you ready for a chuckle? The reverendchild is due in late December. I vow never to do the combined Christmas/birthday gift, but still, that poor little preacher’s kid… How are you feeling? Pretty much like last time. A little tired, a little queasy, a few food aversions, but as long as I follow the Rules of Pregnancy I’m fine. (Eat small frequent meals, get lots of rest, etc.) The tiredness comes on abruptly—you would not believe how abruptly. I go from zero to bitch in 4.2 seconds. How public is this? I’m more than 50% certain that I’ll be telling the church this weekend, and then it’s totally public. Will you find out the sex of the baby ahead of time? Yes. Assuming s/he cooperates. Lots of us are getting strong boy vibes this time, so it will be interesting to see if we’re right. Have you been to the doctor? Uh, midwife. Yes, twice, the second time just today. I was hoping to hear the heartbeat, but the kid was hiding. I was bummed, but the midwife was unconcerned. At not even 11 weeks, hearing the heart on Doppler is far from a done deal. She said I could come back in two weeks, just for the peace of mind. Works for me. How’s little C doing with it? We haven’t talked a whole lot with her about it, but we have asked her whether she would rather have a baby brother, or a baby sister. She says, “Nope.” How much time do you plan to take off after the baby’s born? Our personnel committee is working on the leave policy as we speak, but I’m hoping to take three months or so, using some combination of maternity leave, vacation (we get four weeks a year, so I can use some and still have some in reserve), and accumulated sick time. Is this now going to become one of those insufferable pregnancy blogs? I’m sure the pregnancy will be a blog topic (blopic?), but I don’t plan to obsessively log my weight gain, fetal kick counts or gestational diabetes test results. In other words, this blog will be insufferable in much the same way it always has been. Read/Post Comments (16) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
