1. Number of books I own.

Oh, I don’t know. I would say in the neighborhood of 800 or so? Might break 1,000.

2. The last book(s) I bought.

Leaves from the Notebook of a Tamed Cynic, Reinhold Niebuhr (been on my list for a long time) Thoughts on the first few years of ministry. Written 80+ years ago but still current.

The Circle of Life: The Heart’s Journey through the Seasons, Macrina Wiederkehr and Joyce Rupp (a book of poems and meditations, organized by the four seasons of the year (natural seasons, not liturgical ones) Just flipping through the book makes me glad.

This is the Day: Readings and Meditations from the Iona Community – bought this to give to my head of staff for her 25th ordination anniversary, and had to buy one for myself!

3. The last book that I read.

I’m re-reading the Chronicles of Narnia, and just finished The Horse and His Boy. Y’know? Not the best. But some lovely moments that’ll preach.

Currently reading Prince Caspian, and will start Gilead soon. Which seems to be a revpals requirement.

4. Books that mean a lot to me.

The Bible.
A Wrinkle in Time. Love conquers all.
A Prayer for Owen Meany. Helped me discern my call to ministry.
Charlotte’s Web. The first chapter book I read.
Before You Were Born. A lovely picture book based on Psalm 139.
The Runaway Bunny. Another lovely picture book based on the same psalm.
Son of Sniglet. I laughed, I cried, it became a part of me.
