2005-09-18 9:46 PM monday morning fun There's a place out on the internets where people play a game with movie titles--change (or eliminate) one letter of a title to come up with a totally different film.
For example: Mystic Liver -- friendship, revenge and organ meats gone horribly wrong or American Lie: The George W. Bush story. (Don't send me letters; I didn't make it up) Here are a few of my contributions to this demonic little time-waster. Why don't you put off the reality of Monday and play along? You know you want to. Harry Potter and the Giblet of Fire -- Boy-wizard battles Lord Reflux, who has returned to power after emerging from an extra-spicy batch of country gravy. The Sound of Musin' -- Philosophical mumbo-jumbo: The Musical! It's a Wonderful Lift -- Heartwarming holiday film about a magical elevator. Field of Dreads -- If you build it, your worst nightmares will come true. My Big Fat Geek Wedding -- Star-Trek and SCA-themed nuptials. Funding Neverland -- Michael Jackson's vain attempts to get out of debt and save his ranch from foreclosure. Rove Actually -- Romantic comedy starring the Turd Blossom himself. Biggest flop since Gigli. Whale Ryder -- Formerly pixie-ish Winona gets HUGE. Garden Stats -- A documentary about landscape architecture; directorial debut by number-cruncher Marge Inovera (hat tip to the Car Talk Credits) Lady and the Trump -- Park-avenue pooch falls for mogul in bad toupee. or Lady and the Cramp -- Gritty slice-of-life drama about a woman's monthly cycle. The Philadelphia Stork -- Oh, C.K. Dexter Haven! Your ex-wife's pregnant and it's yours! The 40-Year-Old Virgil -- Get to know the man before he wrote the Aeneid. The Prince's Diaries -- Young bookish man dreams of being swept away by a glamorous young heiress. Hey, it's the 21st century, it could happen. To Bill a Mockingbird -- Even Atticus Finch needs to get paid. The Incrudibles -- Adventures of a family of superheroes, whose power lies in their inability to get dirty. Return of the Bing -- Final installment in fantasy trilogy starring Matthew Perry. Pheasantville -- Idyllic 1950s suburb overrun by game fowl.
