1. Until R, every guy I'd ever dated was shorter than I am.

2. Pancakes are my favorite breakfast food, so when I go out for breakfast or brunch I always try to order a short stack. Buttermillk are the best--no harvest nut and twig or overly sweetened cakes. R made some the other day that were great though--banana walnut.

3. In our church's Book of Confessions, the Westminster Shorter Catechism has an expanded version called the Larger Catechism (Larger, not "Longer"). You will get points taken off in my class for the error.

4. My mother made a Strawberry Shortcake cake for one of my sister's birthdays--she used the SS-shaped pan, star tip for filling in the colors, you name it. I'm pretty sure that's the only elaborate cake she ever made for any of us. By contrast, my first birthday cake was an angel-food cake with a pillar candle stuck in the middle, and my fifth birthday cake was a chocolate sheet cake with a "5" spelled in M&Ms. Delicious and Klassy!

5. I completed this in four short minutes, because vacation is growing short.
