If we stopped long enough to be truly upset by each one, we would spend our whole life racked with agonised emotional empathy. It would be like stopping to admire the beauty of every single daisy, or the intricate perfection in every blade of grass... only in reverse, if you see what I mean. Sometimes, the broad view is the only view we can possibly take. We do what we can, and what we can't do we must leave in the lap of the Universe.
