Every now and then I get a salad urge. Grill chicken breasts, set aside. Wash, separate, remove seeds, trim, chop, peel, slice, grate veggies, lettuce, cheese. Dice chicken. Mix. Salad dressing--vinegar, oil, herbs, pepper, etc. It's always delicious and after all that work I am reminded why I prefer to buy them ready-made.

Maybe when (and if) I retire, I'll have time to play Martha Stewart in the kitchen, apron and all. Right now, after 46 frickin' years of supporting myself--I'm still supporting myself and husband and dog and cats and daughter and a couple of goldfish. Gonna send those goldfish out to get real jobs any day now. Then teach the dog to make salads.
