Death squads burn villages, rape and murder villagers, destroy crops and animals, leaving the survivors without a place to live, starving in their millions. Millions.
The compassionate Bush administration last week sponsored a resolution at a Security Council meeting which dropped the threat of sanctions on Sudan's government and also eliminated the demand that Sudan find, disarm and prosecute the perpetrators of the vicious acts. Their reasoning? A unanimous Security Council vote is more likely to bring about peace in the area by a general agreement to a cease fire and a Muslim-Christian power sharing arrangement. So much for compassion and American ideals. Maybe the Rice that grows on Bushes will fill their bellies. Mine is already filled with hypocrisy, thank you. And where is the media outcry? Where are all the pictures on the nightly news? The interviews with victims? Ah, the media have other more self-serving interests. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
