Manager-level persons tells me he has an antidote he wants to insert into a memo. I say, "What?" (This is the most intelligent response I can think of when asked to do something that makes no sense.) He says that he wants to tell the story of the employee who...I say, "Oh. That anecdote. I remember it now." I'm hoping by repeating the word back to him correctly he'll learn the correct one. This is the same person who says something like the following on a regular basis: "In lieu of the present danger, we should add extra safety measures." What he means is, "In view of the present danger...." Sigh. I'm uncomfortable correcting him, but I hate to have him make a fool of himself. He's a good boss.
