As much as I thought I could foresee the end of the novel, it still took me by surprise. Well-written and provocative. Should be read by anyone who is a woman, lives with women or works with women. As with most good science fiction, it looks at the post-apocalyptic world through the eyes of a very modern, thoughtful female protagonist.
On another topic, here's a quotation from a piece in the New York Times by Thomas Friedman: "These are people so much better at inflicting pain than feeling it, so much better at taking things apart than putting them together, so much better at defending 'intelligent design' as a theology than practicing it as a policy." You know to whom he refers. Random thought: Daniel loves her better than I. Daniel loves her better than me. The change of the pronoun makes an enormous difference in the meaning of the sentence. Just run each sentence out with the full wording. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
