I have some serious reservations about "celebrating" or "observing" Halloween.

First, the people who come to my door for goodies are seldom little children. They are middle school and older and they come with pillowcases and grocery sacks, obviously expecting large handfuls of candy or other treats. Many want money.

Second, more and more Halloween has come to resemble Devil worship. I know this seems silly, but when you emulate demons and devils and bad things that go bump in the night, are you not evoking them into our reality?

Maybe we need to play with our devils once in a while, but I am always uncomfortable seeing a sweet little toddler face peeping out from a devil mask.

Maybe demons and devils do exist and we need to placate them, before they are sent back to where they came from on All Saints' Day. I dunno.
