2005-12-28 4:58 PM Unusually Quiet Day Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Contemplative Read/Post Comments (3) Today has been an unusually quiet day. I have provided a lap for two cats and a leaning post for a dog. I finished reading A is for Alibi by Sue Grafton, a complete waste of time, but enjoyably so.
The only flurry of activity occurred when the person who was repairing the bathroom sinks asked me to clear out the big cabinets under the sinks so he could get at the pipes and whatnot. There was an awful lot of stuff, all jumbled together, under there and a bottle of shampoo had leaked all over everything. I must say that cleaning up spilled shampoo is a lot better than cleaning up some other messes I've had to deal with at various times in my life. I did keep asking myself, how do I know when it's gone? There seemed to be an infinite amount of it, once it got wet, foaming and slithery. After that things settled down once again. It's gloriously wonderful to be bored for a bit. My life is usually so hectic, frantically turning from one crisis to another, that this respite is profoundly welcome, and not really boring at all. Part of the day was spent just sitting. Not doing anything, just being mindful and quiet. Bliss! Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
