In a sense, these students are being denied an education by a system that cannot see past its own nose and its own self-interest. The students are learning that there are no consequences for their actions--which is not true in the real world, of course. This will have repercussions for years as these children grow older and enter the workplace and eventually run the country. President Bush spent decades not accepting and dealing with the consequences of his actions, rescued by daddy's friends and by religious evangelicals. Our country will suffer the effects for a long time. On a smaller scale, these children will wreak their own destructiveness in years to come. Who needs the Apocalypse?
