I lost several pounds this weekend the hard way.

My daughter (from Seattle) and my grandson (from London via Seattle) came to visit.

So, as is the custom in these parts, we went out for brunch Saturday morning. Something I ate disagreed with me and I spent the next 24 hours worshipping the porcelain goddess. My goodness, I hate throwing up.

Even as a child, I had a tendency to get the 24 hour stomach bug, and though it has been rare in recent years, it is no less awful. The second 24 hours are spent encouraging your stomach to accept food again (c'mon now, a little tea won't hurt you) and then recovering enough strength to walk farther than from the bed to the bathroom (yeah, feet, let's go to the livingroom now and set a spell).
