Many a woman has struggled with a sliding clasp behind her neck (or asked for help), held her wrist against her body to secure one end of the bracelet while attempting to fasten the clasp or squinted into a mirror to slide the hoop of an earring through her ear. Why oh why don't necklaces, earrings and bracelets fasten with super strong magnets? I received a pendant necklace with a magnet closure as a gift for my birthday, and it is great. It is simple to close. Get the two magnets anywhere near each other and they join. And it takes quite a bit of force to pull them open--about as much as it would take to pull the split ring of a finding apart. As a bonus, magnets are supposedly good for your joints and for healing muscles. I wear a magnetic bracelet when my right wrist is stressed, and the pain and stiffness go away. Don't know if it is coincidence or not. But I do know that the wearing of jewelry would be greatly simplified if they closed with magnetic clings. So any of you out there who decide to seduce me with jewelry--you are warned. No fussy clasps. Oh, yes, and diamonds are always gratefully accepted.
