There is a site I'd like to recommend to your attention. The link goes to the 60's, great graphics and sound. The tabs on the 60's page go to other eras, other events.

And there is a welcome lack of preaching on the virtues of earlier times versus how bad everything is today, a failing of most of those "Do you remember?" sites and emails.
