It was just a regular day today. No critical reports at work (you know, the kind that are due yesterday and are only vaguely described), no hysterical phone calls from distraught clients, no impossible conundrums (conundra?) to try to untangle or to approach like the Gordian knot. It was a great day for getting some work done on the long-term planning and organization for which there never seems to be time.

A treasured friend received some long-awaited good news, an opportunity that she and her husband have worked for for years. I'm so happy for her.

Things were quite mellow at home, too. The cats have found new places to lurk while waiting for the unwary rodent. The dog is snoring peacefully at my feet. The fan overhead drones on, stirring the 82 degree temperature air sufficiently that it begins to feel cool enough to enjoy.

A book awaits. I have about an hour before bed and the time is golden. I am so grateful.
