But the good news is that the winds have diminished greatly. I hope the worst is over.

It seems odd, somehow, to continue with the mundane details of everyday life while people elsewhere are scrambling for safety and disaster stalks the unwary or unlucky. Somehow I want to stop and honor them; and offer whatever help I can.

This evening I'm going to donate clothes to an organization that is trying to help people who lost everything. It's not much, but I can't just stand around, doing nothing, saying, "Gee, ain't it awful." I always have the urge to DO something.

I guess I was indoctrinated by the saying that if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. Where does that come from?

Time to get out of the house and off to work.
