Such characters have a particular dislike of people like me. I exhibit all the qualities that they pretend to despise but secretly envy. I am enthusiastic and adventurous. I have courage and a clear mind. I can see the big picture and have a generous heart. How satisfying it must be to stop me in my tracks which they love to do by enforcing an archaic rule or unnecessary regulation. How they chortle when they see me rise to their bait. Advice to self: Do not take the bait. Keep my own vision clear. And don't give ground to my own inner critic. I can do whatever I have set myself to do.
